Timeworks

The hands that held me, can also beat me.

The mouth that kissed me, can also curse me.

The mind that loved me, can also fear me.

The dream that awakes me, can always hurt me.

And I don't know why, little things that should pass me by

Touch me so deeply, but so incompletely.

And I don't know why, other scenes of days that have gone by

Can't fill the promise I made to myself.

A force that tells me, there's more than I see.

My intuition, a false premonition.

An impulse caption, daisy-chain reaction.

The autumn breezes, the Summer solstice.

And I can't tell why, after every tear that I cry

Hands in the air push up the hour.

There's a clock in my heart, and it's hands are tearing me apart.

Minute by minute, day by day...

And I don't know why, little things that should pass me by

Touch me so deeply, but so incompletely.

And I don't know why, other scenes of days that have gone by

Can't fill the promise I made to myself.

And I can't tell why, after every tear that I cry

Hands in the air push up the hour.

There's a clock in my heart, and it's hands are tearing me apart.

Minute by minute, day by day...

I wish it'd go away.

Time works for no one.
